Swimming Koyuki

Toshimi sent this poem and I just had to share!
Koyuki is Edie’s litter sister, sired by Ian and out of Tequlia.

She likes to play in river and lake like my Chacha does.
She does not scare anything.
Now she can do anything she want to!
Because she can not be a show dog any more.
Her face coat never grow. Puppy face forever….

Apso Hair Shawl

This is a scarf I knitted, combining my Apso yarn with fancy, colorful yarn. The gloves were purchased, then embellished with the fancy yarn.

I supplied the hair. Eve spun it, wove it and donated this beautiful shawl to the Gompa dogs. It was raffled in St. Louis, October 2004, the week the Gompa dogs were presented for the first time in a public forum. This is Faye, modeling the shawl..

Madame Yoland de Zarobe won the raffle..

Apso yarn

For years I’ve been saving my dogs’ hair. I have a canvas bag hanging on my stand dryer; you want the bag to breathe. Each time I take the hair out of the slicker brush I put the hair in that bag. The hair is clean and already ‘carded’. When the bag is full I send it to Amanda Todt for spinning.

Mountain gardening

Mountain gardening. Yep, I keep trying to fool myself that all this ‘woodworking’ is gardening. I would have been happier designing Collage pages for the dogs’ birthdays, believe me! Here’s what I was doing instead…

This is my son Nate running the wood splitter..woodsplitting.jpg

It’s been great having him back in Denver, spending ‘quality’ time working together. 😉 He’s helped repair and replace fencing inside and outside the kennel. He leveled the dirt our neighbor hauled in for the lower part of the driveway. He’s cut down trees. About every 2 – 3 weeks, he comes up and we work on some outside project. Not only can I utilize the physical strength he offers, but it helps having that time set aside to work on not-so-fun projects.

There is one task he refuses to do. Stack wood. He said he’d help with slash, he’d cut wood, he’d repair fences, he’d do anything but stack wood. He’s stacked enough wood in his life. So, here I am hauling the split logs to the woodpile on the other side of the house..woodmoving.jpg

And here’s the start of the woodpile..woodpile.jpg

There’s still a little bit of this project left to do, but it will have to wait until the chain saw is sharpened. Moutain gardening. Ain’t it grand! Next week we’re going to play with rocks!

Happy Birthdays…a day late

Yesterday Frankie, Rose and Seth turned 7 years old. Frankie and Rose are siblings. Seth, although related, is not a sibling.

My intention, this next year, is to have a collage page, linked through the Galleries, done for each dog. A nice target would be that dog’s birthday. It didn’t happen with this trio…there’s always next year!

Rose’s page was the first scrapbooking collage page I did. Be sure to scroll down to see photos of her in her forever home. See Rose’s page

Although there’s not yet a scrapbook collage for him, Seth does have a page with a nice photo and correspondence from Carolyn. See Seth’s page

Frankie, you’ll just have to wait! I’ve got great photos of you, but not yet transferred to your page. I’m thinking a canoe theme would be perfect for you.
