Sarah and Bryan meet Vincent

Yesterday Sarah and Bryan brought Vivian up for grooming. Vivian is a littermate to Ian, C’est La Vie, Camron and Tambo. That was an excellent litter. Julie kept a male and a female. I kept a male and a female. Vivian, in sync with her littermates, is officially FFT Vis-a-vis. When her permanent bite came in, it was apparent she was more undershot that preferred. With 3 siblings to go forward, I placed Vivian with Sarah. What a joy that has been in my life. Sarah and I became friends. I love that I have a friend that’s 32.

On New Year’s Eve, Sarah’s dad preformed the ceremony for her wedding to Bryan. They seem a perfect match. Bryan sometimes accompanies Sarah when she brings Vivian up for grooming. We talk podcasts, politics and lots of other stuff. Bryan is the person that brought Web 2.0 to light for me. Being an IT guy for CU Boulder, he truly understands computers inside out. He understands all the silly lingo. Twitter. Tweet. I really do like having young friends.

The coolest thing happened the week I groomed Vivian in January. Sarah sent an email wanting to talk with me about getting a puppy. Bryan wanted a male and had already named him Vincent. Vincent! There’s history behind that name. Vincent! Viv’s dam is Victoria. Her siblings were Victor and Vincent. Both met untimely, unfortunate deaths. In fact it was Vincent’s death that nearly did me in. That’s another story for another day… Anna’s puppies were born that very week Sarah sent her email. Anna and Vivian are both daughters of Victoria. Anna whelped one male puppy. Sarah and Bryan’s Vincent had arrived. Yesterday they met for the first time.

Julie sent…puppy photos

The first of Julies’s puppies went home yesterday and next weekend the others are schedule to go to their new homes. Although puppies are a joy to watch they are alot of work and we are anxious to lessen our load (so to speak). Most of the puppies are spoken for but we still have a couple left looking for good homes. With the economy the way it is, we understand a puppy may not be a priority right now for a lot of families but at the same time what a better way to bring some happiness into your life when everything around us now a days is so depressing.

Dawn has waiting for months for her puppy. Here’s what Julie had to say: The first puppy went to her new home. Dawn chose the parti girl.  She is going to have an absolutely wonderful home.  We talked and watched the puppies and decided red girl was a much “busier” dog and because it is just her and her husband at home, the children are grown, parti girl seem to be a better fit.

MaryAnn sent…Gracie

Gracie is Edie’s sister…

gracie22008I can watch my mommie when she is in the kitchen – I love her! And she loves me!

gracie12008When I bite it, it says “I love you”. I must be special!!

Note the toy is a rose! We met MaryAnn through the website several years ago. She flew into Minnesota – and right back to South Carolina – to pick up Gracie. Here’s how their New Year’s card read:

Happy New Year, Debby

Just a note to keep in touch and I’ve included a few shots of Gracie. She is still her bossy, loving, good natured, happy, very playful and fun loving little self. She is all about friends – two legged and 4 legs.

I have chosen not to use any of the flea medications on her – but I did keep her free of fleas during the summer using a mix of lavender water, tea tree oil & eucalyptus oil – major miracle in Charleston, SC. She has just started with the ProDen Plaque Off – hope it really works.

I have given several people your website – one was a really nice lady in Senneca, S.C. a few eeks ago who said she was considering a Lhasa Apso for her next pet. I am inclined to get on my soapbox over the benefits of getting a puppy from a good breeder. I am your advocate in South Carolina! Your website is still my source for all things Lhasa. I love the breed!

Dear Debbie,
Your new web site is very impressive and I was surprised that you still have all the information on “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere”, our wonderful Samson.  He is a great addition to the house and we are very proud of him.  He is such a good traveler and our trips back and forth from Ohio to Florida are taken in stride.  He isn’t upset by the changes in the life style – has friends in both places.  He is always friendly with other dogs, eager to greet them and I have never worried about it.  There are so many different breeds down here and all of them on leashes.  I do wish there was a place nearby where he could be let loose to run with other dogs but I haven’t found one yet.  Anyway he doesn’t seem to mind.  When we are near our condo I let him go with me (without leash) to get the mail and he always  knows when it is time and seems to look forward to that little jaunt.
Hope all is well with you and your many puppies.  I’m sure you are still producing beautiful champions.

Hi, Debbie, (again)
Samson has a habit that I intended to tell you about in my last e-mail.  He was certainly given an appropriate name. ” It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” was perfect and he is true to his name.  Around 5:00pm almost every day Don and I have a cocktail or a glass of wine before dinner while we watch the news.   Samson is fed at 4:00pm and you could set your clock to that time.  After he eats and we go for a walk he is content until 5:00 and then………….he knows it is cocktail time.  Obviously he doesn’t get a cocktail but he gets a little ramekin which I fill with Cheerios!  Why Cheerios?  Don has been a volunteer at Hospice in Toledo for several years.  They havre a dog who lives at the facility and is a great favorite with the patients.  They found that everyone was giving the dog food and he was getting too fat so they started giving him a few Cheerios instead of other fattening food.  The dog loved the Cheerios and didn’t put on any more weight.  So that is why Samson is now fed them at cocktail time at our house.  When they are all gone I show him the container and tell him they are “all gone” and he seems to accept the answer.  He would still like some of our goodies but “oh,well” that’s just too bad.  So you see, you couldn’t have given him a more appropriate name!
