:Andy Rooney…on women over 40

I don’t about you guys, but I love Andy Rooney’s view on life. So, Just For Fun, here’s what he has to say about women over 40.

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:A woma n over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, “What are you thinking?” She doesn’t care what you think.

If a woman over 40 doesn’t want to watch the game, she doesn’t sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it’s usually more interesting.

Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won’t hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it’s like to be unappreciated. Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart. Older women are forthright and honest. They’ll tell you right off that you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don’t ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it’s not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.

For all those men who say, “Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?”, here’s an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it’s not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

:Enough already!

I am disgusted right now. Disgusted! I thought the subject of Weekend Veterinary Fun would fade away, like most conversations. Instead, it has turned into mud slinging. I will not tolerate this on the blog!!! Enough! I’ve had enough! I did not start this blog to be a mud slinging message board. Enough! Ladies, this is enough! It’s certainly enough for me. Susan is learning. She was gracious enough to take in a special needs dog that was no longer wanted, for more reasons than explained. She continues to seek solutions, including coming up with some great ideas herself. Enough! I’ve had enough!

The purpose of this blog, besides my own enjoyment, a creative outlet for my need to write, a great way to stay connected, is for education. I am a believer in teaching through encouragement, not mud slinging. I will implement my ability to approve posts before hitting the blog if necessary.

I am disgusted!!!

:Fun Art on a Thursday morning..

The sky is blue, with the promise of becoming even bluer this morning. It belies the sense of foreboding, running like an underground current through the house. Chris met for a conference with the many people that will be involved in her surgery, her quest to buy herself some more time, some more quality life. The recovery period from this type of brain surgery is from 6 weeks to a year. A year! Whew! She has already beaten the very bleak odds surrounding Inflammatory Breast Cancer. 30% survive the first year. She has entered her fifth year. Last weekend she told me that she’s okay; she’s led a great life with a wonderful husband and family, had a successful business she enjoyed and has traveled the world. What more could one want from life, she commented. She lives her life now buying time…time for family, friends and more travel. Additionally, she wants to show how to be dignified during the process. This, she achieved from the beginning of her battle. She is an inspiration for those around her, including people she’s met in the past five years going through a similar process. She truly is My Hero. And I hope this surgery leaves her with dignity.

A rather bizarre intro to the following prints. You can probably expect more over the next few weeks…  😦  So, let’s turn my frown upside down! 🙂

:Monday morning

Maybe you’re wondering where I’ve been all weekend. Maybe not… Thursday, my sister-in-law Chris was diagnosed with another brain tumor. She will be undergoing brain surgery March 15. (Ginny and Tammy – let’s still alter clothes – it will be a long day and I have a feeling a trip – even a brief trip – over to Ginny’s sewing room will provide a little sanity for my own brain.) Julie had forwarded the following last week. I think it’s appropriate, even if I can’t get the graphics to wave and flicker.

:Bits and pieces

I finished a book this morning. Before going to my recliner to start another, waiting for Julie’s phone call about C’est La Vie, thought I’d stop by to let you all know that I’ll be playing catch up this weekend. Catch up with rest. Catch up with What’s New. Things will be filtering into the blog in bits and pieces, without rhyme or reason.

Obviously, I’m going to have to set up something better in the way of lighting to showcase the puppies, along with removing Nagpo during the photo shoot. Here’s Every Body Eating.
