LACCC Raffle
Posted: February 12, 2011 Filed under: Lotsa Lhasa Info 1 CommentOkay… Vickie has already sold $60 worth of tickets. Melissa called her a show-off. 🙂 I was going to write a snappy reply: No fair! We don’t have raffle tickets yet! Then I realized she probably doesn’t either. Here’s the deal. The Lhasa Apso Club of Central Colorado is holding this year’s Specialty in Albuquerque, NM in October. Same week as the National. Our club is allowed a fundraiser the day of our show. We’ll be selling raffle tickets this year for your choice of two items. The first one is purple grooming table by Tableworks.
The second item, from 14k_9, is a sterling silver large standing Lhasa Apso on large free-form heart with red garnet accent stone as a brooch or pendant with small bail. Valued at $230:

You Had Me At Woof
Posted: January 31, 2011 Filed under: Lotsa Lhasa Info Leave a commentAgain, from the latest edition of the AKC Gazette:Â A new memoir by Julie Klam: You Had Me At Woof: How Dogs Taught Me the Secrets of Happiness, offers chapter-by-chapter lessons in life.
The article included an excerpt, a complete story actually that starts like this…
“I was on the treadmill at the gym when I got a call. It was about 95 degrees outside and I had to dry off repeatedly to hear Sheryl, the head of my Boston Terrier rescue group. A woman had found a Boston in the West Village and was going to dump him in the city pound if someone didn’t get him today. I called the woman and said I’d come. She told me to meet her at West 4th Street. I took the train down and waited for her to show up. A very thin young woman wearing a black slip, stiletto heels, and Victoria Beckham-type sunglasses was coming towards me. She was definitely on drugs.”
I put the book on hold at my library too.
