Dawa goes home
Posted: March 7, 2009 Filed under: Gompa Lhasa Apsos Leave a commentOnce again, the hand-off happened in the Park-n-Ride lot. Seems a bit clandestine… Karma is quite stunning with scattered black tipping on pale silver gold hair. His head type classic. Best of all, he recognized me! And was happy to see me. Often dogs that formerly lived with me will acknowledge me, pay respect. But, then it’s as if they’re thinking Wait! I’d rather stay with this person! I honor that.
I enjoyed talking with Rob, hearing about Karma, his lifestyle and what he’s learned. Can’t wait to hear about the antics of Dawa and Karma, along with photos. Here’s hoping last night – Dawa’s first night away from her birthplace…can I really use that word…she came into this world one glorious moonlit night at Animal ER. How ’bout her first night away from her sister and extended pack.

Isn’t she too cute!

Posted: January 8, 2009 Filed under: Gompa Lhasa Apsos Leave a commentA little – a lot actually – after the drawing for the Gompa print. The winner happened to be one of Vickie’s Shih Tzu friends.
We have a very happy raffle winner!! Wanted to know if it was an “original” as it was such high quality …

:Two puppies and a funeral…

You know the movie…Four Weddings and A Funeral. Three Puppies and A Funeral became Two Puppies and A Funeral. That was The Week That Was.
Friday night Ponya had an emergency c-section. Exhausting. Expensive. Hours laying in the exam room floor with her. Two thriving puppies. One not-so-thriving puppy died Sunday morning after round-the-clock care. But…
Two daughters. One black. One gold sable. Yippee!! I wanted a Ponya daughter. There’s two! And one is black! Yippee!!
And..so..life, joyous life goes on.
:Dorje
Posted: July 25, 2008 Filed under: Gompa Lhasa Apsos 6 CommentsI’m off and running, but wanted to quickly share about Dorje. He’s been paralyzed in the back end for thirteen days. Using Old School methods, I’ve been nursing him. His attitude and appetite are great. Last week I discussed his situation with my chiropractor, Jason Steinle. Last Saturday I clipped Dorje’s hair short to help with keeping him clean. It seems to me there’s at least one vertebrae out of alignment. Yesterday I mentioned this to Jason. He volunteered to take a look and see what he could do!!! Yippee!!
