Well, Raji would have said thank you earlier, but she’s been too busy eating cake and ice cream and blowing out candles.
Also she confided to me that she’s a bit embarrassed that she doesn’t remember Danielle….

Tell her not to worry. She never met Danielle. Her sister Irdhi lived with Danielle her at my house.
Happy Birthdaty! 16, wow that is wonderful! I have noticed from photos that some of the Gompas Lhasas seem to have curly or wavier hair than others. Is there hair, in general, more wavy than other lines of Lhasas? Cathy
There is a variety, but the majority of them have straight, easy to care for hair. When comparing ‘wave’ it is important to keep several things in mind. Length of coat influences the ‘drape’ of the hair. The weight of longer hair will pull wave straighter. Show dogs, done up for the ring (or a photo) will rarely show any wave. When we dry coats for presentation, the coat is stretched as we blow dry, helping to straighten waves. Additionally, most Lhasa Apsos are ironed with a flat iron before presentation. I don’t go to such lengths with my Gompas. They are bathed every other week, but no fancy ‘presentation’ drying!

Can you believe it’s been another year? Tomorrow Raji will be 17 and she still looks and acts like a puppy. About a week ago I took her to the vet to check on a skin ailment that all of the dogs have had and the vet suggested we run a “senior panel” just to check her blood levels since we had never tested her thyroid, etc. When she called to tell me the results, her message said : “Raji’s blood looks just like she does: years younger than her actual years”.
I am grateful every day that I have been blessed with this wonderful dog.

Happy Birthday to Raji! Last I heard her sister Irdhi was in equally good health. Here’s to The Ladies!
Hey, I was just looking for something about the recently departed Buddha Baby Dom Chung and I came upon this post I made three years ago. Hah!!!!! Raji had her 19th birthday last week.
Last month we discovered she had glaucoma and she now has a prosthetic left eye, but you can’t tell and she is as beautiful inside and out as ever.
