Music poll
Posted: May 29, 2009 Filed under: DRambles on Black Mountain 8 CommentsOkay, I’ve got a question. Please give me feedback! I’ve had a request to put the music back throughout the website. It’s currently set to loop once (play once) when opening the homepage the first time. Some months ago I changed it from continuous loop. What do the rest of you think about the music? Once? Continuous?
Once, please.
I’ve enjoyed being able to visit your site more lately and have it load quickly. My internet connection is sloooooowwwww dialup, sometimes / usually 28.8 Kbps. Music files are large and cause program freezes, hang-ups or complete computer crashes. Continuous loops, slide shows and videos all cause havoc. Love the music, but would much rather be able to read and see what’s going on in your world 🙂

I don’t like music on websites at all.
Gets in my way, so I usually have the sound on my computer turned all the way down and only bring it up to audible if I need it.
Which is probably why I had no idea there was music on your site at all..

Oh dear…I am the voice of dissent. I LOVE THE MUSIC!!! I think it sets the mood. Can we compromise with one loop???
Debbie, is it possible to put the music on a button / toggle? So it would only load if someone chose to load / listen to it. It is lovely music, but being able to choose whether to listen would be preferable to going back to slow loads. (for me that is)
84 degrees here today — Rose is on her back, panting, with her tongue lolling from her mouth.

One loop only-please
Hi Debby,
I’d also prefer one loop only at the beginning. When you feature such things as Lisa Humphrey and Chandi (how incredibly marvelous!), and I click on them from your site, if your music loops continuously, it “plays over” the sound in the video. My husband said there is a way to stop that, but I’m not literate enough to figure it out.
Thanks!
Katy
Hello Debby, just once is fine, since my computer is dial up and slow. When I try to download a picture, it sometiimes sa ys I do not have enought virtual memory???
Roadie has a birthday this month, I think he will be fiive, I have to check. He is doing fine, now thinks he has to sleep in the bed at night, doesn’t like thunder, barks at anyone he doesn’t like that passes the frontdoor. He is on a combination of raw, wellness and table food. He is a very picky eater.
Warmly,
Alma
Thnaks for the input. Someday I may explore having a button for those who wish to listen to the music longer than one loop. For now I’ll save myself that particular learning curve.
