Zeke loves his goats!

This is Maggie, mother of the twins born earlier this year, finishing up in the milking shed, heading back to the goat pen. Zeke always gives her a hug on the way out, and they interact for a minute or two. They are good friends. Maggie has never shown any fear of him; on the contrary, she was attracted to him from the beginning. He loves to drink his bowl of warm Maggie Milk every morning, and lick our Goat Milk Ice Cream bowls in the evening.

Zeke is a character!!!….Who milks the goat? Pardon my citified ignorance, but do you just drink it fresh? I have been wanting to ask you where in New Mexico you live? Is it in Santa Fe County somewhere? Can you email me off list? I just wanted to ask you some questions about N.M…..Thank you!!!!
Hi Gail! Indeed, Zeke is a Personality of the Highest Character; a very strong presence on this planet, full of spirit, humor and wisdom: all good Apso qualities.
Ken or I milk Maggie every morning. After she kids, in the spring, we milk twice a day and feed the kids on bottles until they are well grown, then wean them at 12-16 weeks. Then, we dry her off to once a day, milking her every morning. We strain and chill the milk in an ice cream maker, and drink it ice cold, fresh and raw as soon as possible after milking so that it still contains all the life force energy (demonstratable through Kirlean photography) and enzymes (destroyed by pasteurization) necessary to assimilate the available calcium and protein. The most healthful and life-giving substance on the planet -fresh, raw goat’s milk, drunk by millions the world over for millenia. We also make chevre, mozzarella, feta, kefir, ice cream and soap!
We live in Edgewood, in southern Santa Fe County, on the eastern range of the Sandia Mountains. We are east of Albuquerque, South of Santa Fe.
