LACCC Raffle
Posted: February 12, 2011 Filed under: Lotsa Lhasa Info 1 CommentOkay… Vickie has already sold $60 worth of tickets. Melissa called her a show-off. 🙂 I was going to write a snappy reply: No fair! We don’t have raffle tickets yet! Then I realized she probably doesn’t either. Here’s the deal. The Lhasa Apso Club of Central Colorado is holding this year’s Specialty in Albuquerque, NM in October. Same week as the National. Our club is allowed a fundraiser the day of our show. We’ll be selling raffle tickets this year for your choice of two items. The first one is purple grooming table by Tableworks.
The second item, from 14k_9, is a sterling silver large standing Lhasa Apso on large free-form heart with red garnet accent stone as a brooch or pendant with small bail. Valued at $230:
Ethan Murrow
Posted: February 10, 2011 Filed under: Art and Photography Leave a commentGoogle Chrome is what I use as my base for the internet. One of the widgets I keep there is ‘Artist of the Day’. From his website Big Paper Airplane:
Ethan Murrow received his B.A. from Carleton College and his M.F.A from The University of North Carolina. He shows his work nationally and internationally. Upcoming solo shows include La Galerie Particulière in Paris and Winston Wachter in Seattle. Recent solo exhibitions include, Winston Wachter in New York City and Obsolete in Los Angeles. Ethan’s short film, “Dust,” was an official selection of the 2008 New York Film Festival. Ethan’s work is in many collections worldwide including the Guggenheim Foundation. His work has been reviewed and published widely, including recently in the Los Angeles Times and the Seattle Times. Ethan is currently a full time faculty in painting and graduate studies at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In 2010, Ethan also served as the Dayton Hudson Distinguished Visiting Artist and Teacher at Carleton College. His writing work appears regularly in theHuffington Post.
His work is really fun. This one is titled ‘Sled is responsive, soft landing in
doubt’.
