Melissa, Josie and Ella are in Long Beach competing at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship. Dogs must meet certain criteria and receive an invitation.

Here’s the latest on Josie’s agility runs:

Agility results for Lhasa Apsos at the Invitational on Saturday. Josie and Melissa are currently in 13 place out of 100 dogs running at 8 inch jump heights.

Okay, so it was a mass mailing. It wasn’t just for me.  There are great photos in this slideshow. Like Marsha, I felt peace and joy watching it. Dogs are amazing companions. No wonder they’ve existed with mankind for a long, long time.

Pass the Mincemeat or just the Brandy and Rum!

Kicking off the holiday season, a recipe from Kathy…

Fruit and Nut Bars
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. oil
1/4 c. sweetened condensed milk (I simply used nonfat milk)
1 (28 oz.) jar Nonesuch Brandy and Rum Mincemeat
1 c. chopped nuts
Combine dry ingredients, add milk and oil; stir until mixture is well moistened. Reserve 1 cup for top, press remainder in 9″x13″ pan. Spread mincemeat over and top with 1 cup topping and nuts. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes
