The vote..

The first by Ayn Rand, ““The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.”
The second from a bookmark Samantha gave me years ago:
Does that mean anything for us old Gompa owners?
LOL….
old owners of old Gompas….

Ooops….no one (NO ONE) ever owned a Gompa.
I should have said, those oldies of us who are owned by old Gompas….

You got all that right! NO ONE ever owned a Gompa. 🙂 While ‘opening the AKC studbook’ was a huge achievement for the breed in general, nothing will change with the Gompa dog breeding program. There is also a provision in ‘the vote’ for bringing in native stock from the Himalayas. All in all, the vote was more about the ability to diversify the (AKC) Lhasa Apso gene pool. I am giving myself a big pat on the back, along with lots of pats for my committee members and Barbara Schwartz, the current president of the American Lhasa Apso Club. Only three other AKC breeds have done anything remotely similar.
Congratulations on a mission well executed and a worthy goal achieved !!!
