    Okay then,
Sammy is Sambuca con mosca (sweet , syrupy and just a bit sneaky).
Rinchen is Jameson straight up (tough and direct).
And Raji? Raji is a Cosmopolitan(feminine and complicated).

So, I’ve thought about this for several days. I’ve thought about each of my dogs. I’ve thought about each of their personalities.

Wine was the obvious, having been present from almost the start of the breeding program. From Tommy – Sweet Burgundy – to Edmund. Ch. FFT No Wine Before Its Time. A name that he lived up too! Slow to mature, but worth the wait. He is classic in type. Not just any wine, he’s surely a rich Merlot.

Having gone down the wine road for any number of reasons, I wanted to come up with something else. This morning, snow falling fast and furious, I looked in the frig to see if I had the makings for an Old-Fashioned this evening. A gourmet Old-Fashioned. Orange slices. Cinnamon sticks. Bitters. Brandy. Ah ha! An Old Fashioned. Maybe not a drink for an individual dog, rather my kennel.

    Old Fashioned (from Wisconsin)

In an Old Fashioned glass add ice cubes and Brandy
    Splash on Angostura bitters
    Add an orange slice
Fill glass with 7-Up (or Sprite)
    Add cinnamon stick

That’s the drink for the FF part of FFT. Old Fashioned. It symbolizes my love of memories, including dog memories. Representing the range of typical FFT Apsos colors – various shades of red gold – are the orange slice and the cinnamon stick. Add sweet memories (7-Up) along with some bittersweet memories (bitters). And there you have it. A cocktail for Fleetfire.

  3. Ali … definitely a Bloody Mary. Rich red with a peppery kick.

Frankers … a Black Russian. Smooth and dark.

Dante … he’a a bit harder to peg. Complex yet smooth/sweet. Perhaps a Colorado Bulldog. Goes down easy but will come back to bite you in the butt if not watching carefully …

    1 shot vodka
    1 shot Kahlua
    1 splash Coca-Cola®
In a shaker mix Vodka, Kahlua, and milk. Pour into a rocks glass and add a splash of Coca-Cola.
