Debby on…Indy
Posted: February 1, 2009 Filed under: Apso Aficionados 3 CommentsI just had to share this painting of Indy. He’s a Bernadoodle (not going to step up on my soapbox…not going to step up on my soapbox). He lives ‘down the hill’ and makes the trek to Evergreen every 8 weeks. This is a watercolor, done by his owner.

What an incredibly beautiful painting!! Does she/he paint professionally? Does Indy’s owner have a website of work?
I don’t think PJ paints professionally. I’ll find out today because I’m grooming her friend’s 2 Standard Poodles today. It was her friend that told me I had to ask PJ to share the painting. I didn’t know she painted until then. The photo that inspired PJ for this painting was taken by someone else, with the camera over PJ’s shoulder, so Indy’s interacting with PJ. When she saw the image, she knew she’d paint it. The painting is watercolor, done by laying color on top of color to achieve the depth of color. She learned the technique for children’s portraits, so maybe she is a professional.
BTW, Kathy, Indy sees Dr. Barnes.
Yes, I’d say the artist is definitely a pro! What a gorgeous painting! And I’ve also found that the best photos of my dogs, resulting in the best paintings I’ve done, is when the dogs are interacting with me and Ken takes the shots. (The Sadie Wonder painting is one of those.) I think dogs make the most excellent subjects!
