This morning I woke up early, finally ready to sort through my childhood photos. I knew it would take a certain mindset…and finally, it was okay. It’s the last bit of sorting needed for the organization system, Library of Memories, I’ve been working on since February. The fun stuff gets to start soon!! Anyway, here’s a photo of me (on the right) with my situpon, ready to head off to day camp.
What a great photo memory, Debby!! Can’t you just hear the old Scout song: “Make new friends, but keep the old–one is silver and the other gold…”
Plus another favorite: The Brownie Smile Song–
An alumni of Girl Scout Troop 281
Ah yes, but we called ours “rest rugs.”
And how’ bout
“Peace I ask of thee Oh River….Peace, Peace, Peace….
When I learn to live serenely, Cares will cease….”
another Girl Scout alum here, although memory has erased the troop number temporily
Girl Scout Troup 122, all the way through…gulp…high school. There were two of us that lasted that long. Me and Louann Moody.
Hey Shelley, it sounds like you had the deluxe version! There was barely enough room to keep our behinds dry from the damp ground. Rest rugs reminds me of those colorful cotton woven rugs we hauled to school in kindergarten for a nap. A nap?! Wow! Think about that. We were in school from ??1PM to ??3PM. I remember learning to count to ten and recognize the names of colors. Surely there were other things!! But maybe not! How much can one learn in 2 hours with a nap included! 🙂
