Blogrolls
Posted: October 7, 2007 Filed under: Apso Aficionados 3 CommentsI figured out one more thing…and now you’ll find Blogrolls – titled Apso Aficianados, in the left hand column.
Katy and Toshimi both have blogs. Katy sent the following:
Autumn greetings!Whew! After a long and extremely busy summer on the farm, I’m finally back at the easel.
If you’re curious about what the future holds for my art, add it to your favorites and check back once in a while!
There’s never a dull moment on Raindance Berry Farm!
Warmest regards,Katy Widger
Thanks for the link, Debbie. I linked the FFT Apso site and blog to both mine, too, ’cause these Aspos are dear to my heart, and I want to spread the news. I’m hoping to post at least once a week, but keeping up with “life” and documenting it, too, may be a challenge. But aren’t blogs fun! Get to meet some great people, both two and four-legged!
Yes, blogs are fun! It’s fun to have a fairly easy format to share things. Things about the dogs, things happening in life, fun things, serious things. It’s fun for me to see people I’ve known and enjoyed – all brought together because of our love of the breed – getting to know each other, keeping up with each other’s dog as well as sharing other aspects of life.
I love that the blog organizes everything so efficiently, without us having to do anything but learn. It sure works way better than the old newspaper-style format I’d tried to use on the website. All I have to do is type and upload. No re-organization involved! I love it! I love that you can search archives, categories or simply on a word. And up comes all the posts that pertain to only that! I do wish this blog allowed more than 5 recent comments to show. It’s so easy to keep up with what’s going on using recent comments. 5 is the limit. It’s an issue other wordpress bloggers have asked to have addressed. Seems wordpress is always making updates, so maybe some day!
Question, Katy. Do you have an avatar? When I set up this blog, I was asked to create an avatar. That’s the little photo of me that shows up whenever I comment. It doesn’t show up when I post the initial topic. I’m curious because if you do – or could set one up through your blog hose – it would help Faye and I troubleshoot – that would be learn actually, since I know very little about avatars. Not a big deal, but it’s one of those small things I’m trying to figure out.
I think you and I might be able to set our blogs up so that when either of us update, it shows up on the other’s blog…maybe even if recent comments are updated. Another small thing, but you can see the advantage. I started really thinking about hosting a blog when I watched my son upload photos of his off-road vehicle 15 minutes after Rick and he had brought it home. Nate took digital photos, uploaded them to his facebook page, and from there everyone he’s linked to through facebook (he has to set this up, it’s not public) was aware of his new vehicle the next time they logged onto their own facebook page.
Wow! That looked like something I could use to simplify my life, particularly keeping up with correspondence. And what a fun way to do that! I’m able to share so much more because the blog has done that and more.
Debby,
We’re using Blogger, and it doesn’t have that avatar feature, so Ken was unable to do that for me. I’m way behind you when it comes to learning all this stuff about how they operate, as simple and efficient as they are. Blogger is a Blog for Dummies, and all I have to do is “point and shoot”, so to speak, i.e. write and click! I do have you linked, though.
