You Had Me At Woof

Again, from the latest edition of the AKC Gazette: A new memoir by Julie Klam: You Had Me At Woof: How Dogs Taught Me the Secrets of Happiness, offers chapter-by-chapter lessons in life.

The article included an excerpt, a complete story actually that starts like this…

“I was on the treadmill at the gym when I got a call. It was about 95 degrees outside and I had to dry off repeatedly to hear Sheryl, the head of my Boston Terrier rescue group. A woman had found a Boston in the West Village and was going to dump him in the city pound if someone didn’t get him today. I called the woman and said I’d come. She told me to meet her at West 4th Street. I took the train down and waited for her to show up. A very thin young woman wearing a black slip, stiletto heels, and Victoria Beckham-type sunglasses was coming towards me. She was definitely on drugs.”

I put the book on hold at my library too.

Everyman’s Library

In the Bookshelf section of the latest AKC Gazette:

A Collectible Library of Classics Unleashes Dog Stories

“I’ve long been a fan of the Everyman’s Library of the sophisticated elegance of its design the discriminating selection of its literary works. With the Dog Stories anthology, the editors have rounded up a pack of vividly imagined, lyrical stories  from a bracingly wide range of writers, including (among others) Ray Bradbury, Doris Lessing, Jonathan Lethem, Rudyard Kipling, Tom McGuane, and Anton Chekhov.

I was able to reserve it at my local library.

Rishi

And, here’s the latest on Rishi:

Here are some cute shots of Rishi I took last week.  His first top knot as we headed to class.  He is awesome at class.  Last night he showed off.  We were suppose to try “shaping” the puppy to put 2 front feet on a box.  Rishi just hopped right up and stood on top.  He walked a board, went through the tire, did tricks on top of disc and the big ball(of course he has been doing that since 9 weeks old).  He is going to be so much fun-he loves his hot dog as a reward.

Hi, How are things going. I have some pictures for you of Chophel. She is doing really well. She is very smart and learns quick. She had fun at xmas and had her first pontail, she did not take it out. She loves school and most of all enjoys running through the equipment. Looks like we have an agility dog. Yeah. Take care,
Val
